A glorious draw
That had to have been one of the most thrilling 0-0 draws I've ever watched. Both teams were really unfortunate not to score with Reyes hitting the crossbar and I believe it was Raul that hit the post and then just missed when it came straight back to him on the rebound. And of course the half field shot at the empty net just ran out of steam before reaching the line.
Star of the game in my opinion was Aliaksandr Hleb who did a masterful job of controlling the game from the wing. Thierry Henry played a solid game, creating a few nice chances for himself. Unfortunately he couldn't find the net with any of them. Ronaldo and Raul were pretty much invisible all game, other than the one sequence in the second half where Raul had two clear shots. Once again the makeshift Arsenal defence held strong (though Senderos scares me at least a couple of times each game). It's now 6 straight clean sheets in the Champions League.
Question of the day: who do you want Arsenal to meet in the quarter finals?
My pick would be Benfica as they are probably the weakest of the remaining teams, even if they did beat Liverpool. Milan, Juventus and Barcelona would all be very tough matchups.

i hope you don't get barca - the bastards
i want juventus. let's get the monkey off our back now (no racist connotations meant here, just a metaphor). let's beat vieira and then take on who's left. and let's hope for a milan v. barcelona quarter so that one of the biggest champions league threats must be gone.
the one team i don't want to face, however, is lyon. i want them in the final, but not now...not yet. they are the sleeping, deadly giant, that no one takes seriously enough.
and for anyone out their who needs goals for a game to be great...you are not a football fan. that was the best game i've seen all season. nil-nil is just fine.
finally...it's awfully nice to be the last english team in the champs league. it's a pleasurable fuck you to man utd, chelski and pool.
congrats taras. inzaghi kicked some ass today.
heck yes, he did! that was my Napoleon impression.
congrats to you too. i haven't watched Arsenal-Real yet.
as far as question of the day, yes, Benfica seems most appealing, followed by Villareal. but I doubt Milan will get either one.
i want Inter (can't see them choke vs. Ajax). i can't stress how much pleasure it brings me when Sheva rips their hearts out annually. God, i hate Inter.
i'll have my fingers crossed for a Juventus-Barcelona draw. that tie is the football equivalent of sex with Halle Berry (i imagine .. as i haven't seen them play each other yet!). i kid, i kid.
okay, back to reality. good games today.
