boring, boring arsenal
but only boring because it's not fun to watch a team manhandle another so thoroughly (who am i kidding? i had a lot of fun. but my dad, the neutral fan, he was bored). liverpool were completely outclassed. they had a couple of decent spells in the first half, but that's all.
the best part about arsenal's victory today (the second whooping of the weekend: chelsea thrashed watford 4-nil yesterday) was that our utility man and our two central defenders scored the goals. what the hell was toure doing, streaking right up the center to get a breakaway? and where were the liverpool defenders when gallas strolled to within a few feet of reina and put the ball home? and flamini's underpressure goal was awesome. three unsuspected scorers, just the way arsenal was when the gunners were on the magic 49 run.
one other thing struck me today: steven gerrard is not long for liverpool. he's had it with rafa, with players who don't seem to care, with being embarrased and with being played out of position. so i figure he'll either go to man utd (and hargreaves will be out of luck) or he'll go to chelski so lampard can go to barcelona, or he could end up in italy or spain, but wouldn't it warm the cockles to see him cross the river to goodison? he won't, of course, but it would be a blast to see.
btw, in case you couldn't tell...this will be a happy week for me.

i caught the highlights of the game. i thought gallas' goal was a beautie. i just about shit when i realized they were playing liverpool (there was no sound whilst i was watching the highlights). stevie g did not look impressed...
congrats on the win bananas, and enjoy your week.
thanks gio. congrats on your drogba hat-trick too.
All I can say is that I was awfully relieved when I heard Liverpool was taking their own best player (Gerrard) out of the game by putting him on the wing. I have no idea how that made sense to Benitez. By next season either Rafa or Stevie G will be elsewhere. For what it's worth I'd put my money on Rafa getting sacked.
i'll be surprised if rafa is not sacked by the end of the season. in fact, if arsenal oust liverpool from the carling cup i think rafa will be on his last chance. that will be his last gimme.
