famous last words
"A good manager would qualify with these players. I feel we'll get there, but the pressure is enormous. Along the way we're going to hit rocks because we need to try things. But it's not as if I'm stuck here in a muddle not knowing where I am."
~~Steve McClaren
Well...these certainly won't be his last words, but Macca is putting himself seriously on the line here. When he tanks qualifying for Europe -- and he will (England are famed for blowing qualification when they shouldn't) -- he'll be lucky to get a job managing in Coca-Cola division three. But, hey, his seven figure coaching salary should set him up for life, regardless. Go Macca.

they will be fine, in my opinion. despite the last 2 matches and the tough group, they will make it out.
they lost to northern ireland 1-0 and then went on undefeated for 10 or so games.
these players are too good to not qualify.
i agree with bananas - very poor management thus far. his learning curve should be extremely short - he's been with the team for a long time now.
but good players do not necessarily make a good team if they are disjointed at the top. it has been real madrid's downfall, it could be chelsea's...and it definitely looks like it will be england's.
