World Cup predictions revisted
Before the tournament Brad asked for predictions on 6 questions. Looking back on my answers shows just how little I know:
1. Who will be the final four?
My answer: Germany - Czech Rep; England - Brazil
Results: Germany was there
2. Who will be man of the tournament?
My answer: Pavel Nedved
Results: Czech's got eliminated in group stage
3. Who will win the golden boot?
My answer: Adriano
Results: 2 goals. 3 behind Klose.
4. What huge team is going to be the first eliminated?
My answer: Italy
Results: No comment.
5. Who will win the best young player?
My answer: Lionel Messi
Results: He played 122 minutes in Argentina's 5 games. He was a finalist for the award though thanks to fan voting.
6. Who will win the tournament?
My answer: Brazil
Results: Lost in the quarter-finals.

who did the best?
1. Germany = bananas, gio, canadiangooner; Italy = dollev; France = bananas, gio; Portugal = none
2. Zidane = none. Toure, Gerrard, Becks, Nedved and Ronaldinho were nowhere close to winning.
3. Klose = none. Best pick was Sheva (bananas and taras) & Adriano (myself) with 2 goals each.
4. Czechs = taras. England, Netherlands, Argentina and Italy were the other teams named.
5. Podolski = bananas. Messi and Walcott were the other players named.
6. Italy = none. Germany (bananas) was the best pick with England & Brazil losing in the quarter-finals.
So, I would say you had the best picks bananas. You got two of the final four plus you got Podolski right.

and i you for picking italy. well done.
i did horrid all around. while i did predict the czechs to suck, i also thought the states would dominate. that was my biggest surprise.
podolski played great, as did klose. ballack was eeh.
i'm glad ukraine got as far as they did on their first try. they played 3 horrid matches in spain italy and tunisia, one cakewalk vs. the saudis and one great game vs. the swiss.
sheva's decline was also surprising, i can't wait to see what he does in EPL.
argentina and england, who i thought would be in the final, choked.
