Rooney Settles Debts
Wayne Rooney has settled his 700,000 pound gambling debts. Rooney is one of seven England stars who could be questioned by tax investigators after several players ran up huge betting losses. It is rumored that Michael Owen introduced him to the betting firm in question (Goldchip). Sir Alex is worried that England's World Cup hopes could be hampered by Rooney's attention.
Is he throwing an excuse out there if England does poorly?

i think it's more like an excuse of man utd doesn't beat chelsea this weekend. fergie doesn't care too much about england, i don't think.
