mad jens it is

no sooner do i say that klinsmann is soon going to be forced to make jens his first choice keeper for the world cup than he makes jens his first choice keeper for the world cup.

oliver kahn will be far from pleased, no doubt, but there it is. the in form man gets the nod and the legend is pushed to the side. man, i am happy for jens. he has worked his bag off for club and country all year, and he deserves the tip. i hope he has as many fine performances for germany in the world cup. he may just turn himself into a legend as well.

my guess is that this will push arsene into making a longer term offer to jens, making an exception to his policy of one year contracts for players over thirty. this will piss off robert pires, but bobby has to realize that keepers have a different shelf life than midfielders. jens could play well until forty or more, pires is on the downward slope.

anyway, go jens go

Bradadamus, you are.

Bayern Munich called the decision "wrong" in a statement that quoted Kahn as saying he was "very surprised and massively disappointed."
"I will consider my future with the national team over the next few weeks and announce my decision at an appropriate date," Kahn said.

who says that about their teammates? that's going to be a quiet dressing room if he decides to sit on the bench.

i still don't think it's going to matter that much. it's not like jens is that much better than oliver.
