whew!

i haven't seen this chelsea team in a long time...and i'm pretty sure i haven't seen them since mid-december. manU didn't have a chance. chelsea had complete control of the ball for what felt like 85% of the time. passes were crisp, shots were accurate, and the killing blows were beautiful.

gallas opened up the scoring within the first six minutes of a game off a lampard corner kick. lampard aimed for drogba (i think, it could have been terry), who got a piece of the ball, but out of nowhere (or at least nowhere on my tv screen), gallas cuts across the crease and redirects the ball with a beautiful header into the top right corner. the keeper never had a chance.

at 61 minutes, it was my favourite who maneouvered his way through manU's defence knocking a right kick past the keeper as well. that was when the mayhem broke loose. there's no way that manU could possible score 3 goals in the remaining 29 minutes. cole ripped off his jersey (much to my delight, but not to the ref's as he got a yellow card for it), and the crowd started celebrating.

when cole set up carvalho's goal at the 73rd minute...it was official.

i'm glad i got to see the win. with meetings on tuesday and all the final games on sunday at 8 a.m., it was going to be tight.

the only big worry? rooney's foot injury and terry's kick to the shins. chelsea's bid may be over, but now i'm in full force england mode for the world cup.

in the mean time, i wish i was in south-west london right now. what a party they will have indeed!

well...your victorious chelski chumps have broken rooney's fourth metatarsal and he's out for six weeks. there are 41 days left until the world cup. will he be back? probably, but he won't be ready when he gets back.

boy is the english team in a shit state. i think they're going out in the first round. owen and cole will not be up to scratch after their broken foots. rooney is a write off. sol campbell is crazy. rio ferdinand is overrated and terrible in big games. gerrard and lampard can't live in the same midfield (and sven won't have the balls to seperate them). becks has a pooched back. that leaves joe cole as the only attacker who will be fit and effective. oh, na peter crouch (hahhahahahaha!!!!). it looks like sweden and paraguay are going through to face germany and poland in the second round. germany should make it to the quarters without any difficulty at all.

that totally sucks. plus terry hurt himself today too (but pure stubborness kept him on the field). he wanted to be on the field when they won.

ah, paraguay, the same team that lost to both peru and bolivia. england b team will beat paraguay.

sweden won't be as good this year as they usually are with ibrahim out of form. they have little outside linderoth and freddie.

england can and probably will win their group without rooney, which gives him extra time to get ready for important matches.

writing off paraguay for losing to peru and bolivia (both teams who play at extreme altitude) is like writing off england for drawing with wales and losing to north ireland. paraguay aren't great, though, but they can win against big teams. this england team has shown itself to be a team of chokers, and even stevie g is saying the "can't win" the cup without rooney. and i think sweden will be better than you think.

i think rooney's injury might hurt the team, but to use it as a reason why they won't win is a bit bizarre...he played "ok" this weekend, and that was a big game for him too.

but what do i know...i'm just a girl
