only seven points

the race is back on. statements that the premiership was in the bag may just have ben a bit premature. consider this: chelsea has not had such a stretch of poor form in two years, and a draw against birmingham highlights what rough shape they are really in.

on the other hand, man utd have quietly gone about their business, and falling out of the champion's league is starting to look like a blessing. they've already got the carling cup, fergie's punitive benching of ruud is looking like a masterstroke, and they are only getting stronger and stronger in the premiership. between now and the end they only have two real challenges: a resurgent arsenal and a struggling chelsea. they can win it...and so a double doesn't seem an outrageous possibility.

and then there is arsenal. 5-nil against aston villa while tottenham and bolton both lost today. fourth place is a great race right now, and the arse are looking capable of scooping it.

who says the premiership's been boring since chelski bought the league? it's not over yet folks.

yeah but if you do progress to semis, you won't get the 4th spot. it's just too hard to do well in both, especially this late.

you have to play Tottenham (last game) on the weekend in between semis.

you could either eat both your cakes or none (which will suck).

so, ugh, UEFA Cup for Arsenal next year?

just to weigh in again, there are reports in a local Turin paper that Juventus will visit a motivational psychologist. Pavel Nedved has urged the coach to set up a meeting with a doctor prior to the meeting with Arsenal. they feel as though they've hit an emotional low and are physically tired. none of this is official, of cource.
