Say It Ain't So, Joe
moaninho has suspended joe cole from the pitch for four days - including training - for what he feels was selfish play vs. man city on december 31st. i wouldn't know since the freaking stations here in canada haven't played a single chelsea game the entire holiday season. but since its coming from moaninho, i'm taking his comments with a grain of salt...
from the match report, the only thing moaninho could bitch about was that instead of taking the shot, cole passed to crespo instead. WTF??? i'm sure cole isn't the only player in the history of sport to pass instead of strike. i'm a bit pissed off, especially since the past few weeks, cole is the only player that has showed up for every game. i tell you, if cole didn't play for chelsea, i'd never cheer for them.
its absolutely amazing how a manager can turn a fan from its team. chelsea's management SUCKS.

sorry, i meant birmingham city
fearing that i may piss you off i will open with this: "i love you, gio."
but i think moaninho's policy with mr. cole is a good one. it is joe's tendency to screw around that has kept him out of the english team, and it is the one thing that has always made him a bit of a second choice on every team he's played on. and he's been so good, so disciplined over the past year that even a whiff of the old joe needs to be stopped dead, for his own sake.
like you i love joe cole, but i especially love the awesome, hard working, get the job done, joe. and while i hate moaninho it is this very harshness that i think makes him a good manager. let's not forget that he did bench arjen robben for whining and carvalho for the same.
love you too - and i know its hormones speaking and the fact that i haven't seen a game in weeks that's fueling my anger... thanks for the other perspective
