The New Season

I always think it is a bit silly to make prediction lists for a new season, especially when the season hasn't even begun, but now that the first matchday is over I thought it would be time to make some predictions in spite of myself. So here's what my crystal ball tells me about the new season:

1. Chelsea
2. Arsenal (although I want them in first)
3. Man Utd
4. Newcastle Utd (yep...I think this is the team to crack the top four with Big Sam)
5. Liverpool
6. Sunderland (Keano for UEFA spot anyone?)
7. Everton
8. Blackburn
9. Tottenham
10. Reading
11. Man City
12. Portsmouth
13. Aston Villa
14. Fulham
15. Bolton
16. Middlesborough
17. Birmingham City
18. Wigan Athletic
19. West Ham
20. Derby County

FA Cup: Arsenal
League (Carling) Cup: Man City
Top Scorer: Drogba
Top Arsenal Scorer: v.Persie
Player of the Year: Fabregas
Young Player of the Year: Abonglahor
Champion's League Final: Arsenal 2 - Barcelona 1 (c'mon...you gotta give me one)

i can't believe you've got tottenham in 5th (i like your other picks though, for sure). is that a little reverse psychology!

The way I see it is Tottenham can finish second and I would still be perfectly happy as long as Arsenal is ahead of them. The Spurs have some pretty high quality strikers at this point and a great goalkeeper, so it's just a question of how much that will compensate for weakness on defence and in the midfield.

I saw the score after I made my predictions. That's pretty brutal. Already at 0-2 and they've only played Sunderland and Everton. Incidentally, Shaw did pick up Setanta at the last minute, so I'll be able to watch most Arsenal games. It appears they will be showing the Champions League game against Leonidas (SPARTA!!!) tomorrow.
