KEANE OUT AT MAN UNITED
Keane is out at Man United. My only response to that is alright. Let someone else have him and the old man baggage that comes with his venomous personality. Like so many pro athletes in today's world he gave himself a out by doing an interview and dumping on his squad. It is too bad Man. U has refused to publish the interview. I hope this is a fresh start to the club. Lets get younger and balanced with some more mature players. Hey, you never know he could sign with Arsenal?

i'd love to have him at arsecal for a year or so (especially for the games against man utd). i'm surprised you're happy to see him go, mateo. his "venomous personality" is exactly what made him good, and, according to alan smith, his "dump" on fellow teammates after the middlesborough debacle was exactly what motivated him to win (and keano immature? really? for speking his mind and doing what he has always done?). i would think man utd fan's would rather see the gaffer go, since he can't motivate his people, rather than the only guy on the team with balls.
but i am sure celtic will be happy to have him in the fold, which is likely where he'll be going.
i just reread your piece and i couldn't help notice the allusion to terrell owens. one must keep in mind that keane was man utd's captain, an extrememly important position, and a position that takes on different responsibilities in football than in any other game. keane was not some spoiled superstar talking out of turn, he was the captain of the team, a seasoned and respected veteran, who (without his manager's go ahead) did his job off the field while injured. moreover, nothing keane said was false. he didn't attack people's personalities, he gave them shit for their performance. and can any man utd fan tell me he was wrong? look at the state of man utd this year. once again arsenal is the most injured team and they are still doing better than man utd (standings do not reflect the state of the teams at this point).
damn, i can't believe i am defending roy keane, but then, i can't believe you aren't, mateo. i am in shock.
p.s. guess who's going to lose tomorrow.
where are you matt? i've waited all day for you to continue the discussion.
Sorry my friend, a painfully long day that never ended.
Call it pure sour grapes if you want on my part. I just think there is a time and a place for a player to stand up an call your bluff. You get killed by a shitty team and you speak out fine, but if you are constantly calling out your own mates that's rubbish.
Also after hearing that Keane did practice in the morning with Sir Alex then two hours later they had two different press conferences makes me wonder what really is going on.
well i'll be damned. the red devils bounced back today, and smithy played a hell of a game. i wish it hadn't been blacked out.
